[May 30] Five
medals at Euros- the Romanian gymnastics goal
Adrian Stoica, RGF General Secretary, has
announced today that the Romanian Gymnastics delegation (women's
and men's) at European Championship has the goal to bring
back home five medals.
Stoica, which will represent at Euros the Technical Committee
of FIG , said that the best specialists at all apparatus will
be seen at Euros, since there is no more team competition
(Romania has won the last European team title).
Which medals will bring back the romanian
gymnastics team, remain to be seen- especially after the past
months turmoils and lack of training. Keep our finger crossed
for Ponor, but she is (still) having wheight problems (still
no nutritionist or promised fitness apparatus at Deva, all
those promises were only...promises), Catalina is far from
a good form. Hope the best for her, but this may be the first
contest where she can't get the Gold.
Only a miracle (I like miracles, hope for them but... don't
count much on them) can make the inconsistent Floarea Leonida
to bring home a medal. She may get good results back at home
with overscores, but abroad she couldn't brink anything (thanks
to Belu from bringing back Stroescu for Athens, otherwise...).
Sofronie is also having medical problems and can't show much
of her Athens form, too...but there is always hope. Maybe
some of the B&B's (many) icons can help him, again. Otherwise,
their four year$ $10 000/monthly contract doesn't look so
solid to me.
