[Feb 7] The
RMN tests-better safe, than sorry...
RMN tests will soon be self-imposed by managers of soccer
teams, says medical experts in Romania. The whole "Rapid"
soccer team (one of the most popular in Romania) were all
asked yesterday by team managers to take the RMN tests, after
the Sunday incident, when a native Romanian soccer player
Ganea (now laying for a Kiev team) was hospitalized in Spain,
after having brain problems apparently caused by clots. Medical
experts, including those from Bucharest Sports Medicine Institute,
have told to TV reporters that RMN tests, if made on time
-before starting top sport careers or after any major incident,
which may cause such clots, can help treat the athlete and
prevent the death. Early signs consist of any major head strokes
or persistent headaches-like Sharon Stone case, few years
ago, when an emergency surgery have removed the danger. Same
prevention, better-safe-than-sorry rules (may) apply to gymnastics,
too.
