[August 28] Ponor,
Floarea and Eremia get caught on night outings
Catalina Ponor and Floarea Leonida (still) members
of the National team, get caught (again) by coach Bitang early
this morning (at 4, 01 a.m.), when returning from unauthorized
night adventures in Bucharest night clubs. Ponor and Floarea
left the team motel in the middle of the night; the team doctor
made a phone call to coach Belu and alerted him.
The exclusive TVR1 images aired Sunday evening at news showed
an anxious Bitang waiting at the reception desk this morning
(hotel clock showed 4,01 in the morning), when Ponor and Floarea
made their entrance at the hotel, trying (unsuccessfully)
to sneak in their rooms.
Eremia (which is currently on suspension from the team) was
waiting the girls, along with some members of the male team,
inside a Bucharest night club. Dan Grecu, the coach of the
male team, may have his own fault here too, because the men's
member didn't get punished after January "night adventures."
RGF President Vieru: "These are happening
because of their age.Girls and boys (from the National Teams)
can go to dance, if they do their training session properly
(first).It's the coaches job to train them properly for Worlds."
Belu:"I will not tolerate any more any
indiscipline; I'm not used to work and get results with girls
who spend their nights on clubs.Is not normal that two months
before Worlds something like this to happen.There is a contract
between girls and RGF , which girl had broken."
Even the Romanian Olympic Committee (ROC) Secretary Ioan Dobrescu
(which stopped the girls dismissal from team back in February)
said, this time, that "we are going to chaos. Gymnastics
is our No1 Olympic sport and past months their training is
far from being properly.We finance the training of the Olympics
teams but we can't go inside federations jobs.The Federation
have to make a decision and we can't have results without
discipline training program must be respected"
I just want to remind to Belu a B&B promises to girls,
last month: girls can go to dance and Raducan will escort
them, to avoid any troubles. Like many (too many) B&B
statements, it was only (of their many) fairy tale for press.
The basic solution is: National Team have to stay at Deva
to avoid troubles-keep girls far away from Bucharest temptations
and men's team "friends" ;they have at Deva better
training conditions; if B&B still want their $12000 a
month, they have to live at Deva and not sleep comfortable
in their Bucharest villa. Or leave the coach places for other,
younger coaches, willing to make this sacrifice (like they
did for many years, thank you). That simple.
Tomorrow, a special RGF meeting will take a decision.
Ponor and Floarea may...go home, like Eremia and Rosu (and
lose the $400/months bonus from ROC for training at National
Team, money which support their families).
Interesting to see if the "boys"from the means team,
which have considered past year the women team more like their
harem, taking girls underage to clubs and give them alcohol,
will get any punishment for "this one". Maybe their
last one. Romania, the poorest European country, spend millions
of dollars with their training; in the meantime, older people
die because lack of (free, State-sponsorized) medicine and
Romania have the highest rate of children dying in the first
months of live, because the lack of proper medical care...and
money.
If Catalina & company will not make it to Worlds, they
will have a lower "renta viagera"(the monthly pension
from ROC), which can mean like $ 60 000 less during next years
, for Ponor, Rosu and Sofronie (Floarea doesn't count, she
goes like a tourist to any abroad contest, as you saw).

guys, no more updates today, too busy celebrating the B&B's
 resignation.
You all know we have to celebrate fast, before they return,
with increased salaries...
