Ban, "Honorable Citizen of Cluj Napoca"

Ban has received today the title "Honorable Citizen
if Cluj Napoca" -her hometown.

The title was awarded by Mr.Emil Boc, the Mayor of Cluj Napoca
and the President of the most influent (and ruling) party
in Romania, the Democratic Party.
Oana
Ban has also get promises form the municipal council for
an apartment in the one of the new (and up to date buildings)
blocks to be build by the council ("ANL" apartments
in Romania are the only one build by the State which are closer
to Western standards.

Ban also gave some presents to the Cluj Mayor -a personalized
photo tie with her image and to the municipal  council
-an album with images of Oana competing in Anaheim, photos
of the American photographer Tom Theobald, a collection of
CD's with Oana in different contests and some personalized
pencils for the Mayor "to use them for writing down the
Cluj citizens problems".
Oana Ban
is the only gymnast from the Athens Gold team which didn't
get a proper reward from her gymnastics club (Cetate Deva
Club).
Instead of Euros 26 500 from the club (like $30 000), she
get only 50 millions lei (like $1700) through her former coach
Belu -who didn't care to protect his former gymnast interest
in front of Deva Club, from obvious reasons: his work &
life (they share same Bucharest villa) partner, Mrs.Bitang,
is formally a Deva Club employee...
No wonder that Cetate Deva gymnastics club didn't have much
students for last week selection for gymnastics. With such
poor consideration for their own Olympic champion,
why should any parent bother send their children there? There
are plenty other (better) clubs around the country, with good
managers able to reward their athletes (like in Constanta).
