Romanian allnews TV station Realitatea aired a live Report
from Vrancea region, where the earthquake have started (all
of them have the starts in this region, deep at more than
150 km and go up to surface, arriving in 25 second in Bucharest)
. The specialists have estimated the power to be more than

Nadia
Comaneci will remember and speak about her amazing
gymnastics career, during a TV show Romanian Television to
be aired Friday in Romania.
 Despite
her present (and successful) life in US, Nadia is and will
remain a Romanian-born Legend. Maybe it doesn't matter
where she lives now or where she was born-many of us, gymnastics
fans, feel like she is a World Citizen and, to all of us who
saw her back in '76, she will remain The Legend, The Princess
of Gymnastics and...of our hearts.You can't talk about gymnastics
seriously without starting with her name, you can't imagine
how gymnastics would be without her-or if gymnastics
could be the same if we weren't so lucky to have her.Bravo

private University (around 60,000 students) and with national-and
European also-coverage, aired Sunday morning a one hour program
featuring gymnastics.

tornado, hit Deva
A powerful tornado have hit Deva city, home of the Olympic
team, earlier this afternoon. Fortunately, the team leaders
Catalina Ponor and Monica
Rosu, along with Octavian
Belu and Mariana
Bitang, are in Bucharest, (the
less-powerful storm will arrive there too, next hours) where
they can reach easier the competitions (than traveling back
and forth from Deva, 400 miles away and bad train connections).

Ceausescu (son of former dictator) about Nadia
Romanian
independent TV station "OTV" have
aired last evening, during their program called "Testimonyes
about past" , an interview with Nicu Ceausescu,
the son of former dictator Ceausescu. During the program,
aired Friday at midnight, the Spanish TV reporter have tried
to ask about Nicu Ceausescu's love affairs (he was most known
by the Romanian people being as a playboy-type, many legend
being spreads across the country).
Nicu answered that most stories are not trues,
only legends and "to finish with this part, I have to
tell you that I will not answer any more to personal questions".
A good reporter have to do his best to get the
answers, so the Spanish journalist try again soon, asking
Nicu Ceausescu about his relationship with Nadia

Amanar, in a TV show
 Simona
Amanar was one of the special guests, invited at a
Romanian TV show, called "70's " , a weekly program
about most interesting things which have happened during 70's
years.Aired Friday evening (prime time), this weekly edition
was dedicated to personalities like Elvis and Nadia Comaneci
and her first "perfect 10" at Montreal Olympic games.

[ Oct 12] "Queen of Athens" will meet The Prince
Catalina
Ponor (and her coach Octavian
Belu) will be tonight the special guest
of Prince Albert de Monaco, which is the host for a Reception
(with CIO President Jacques Rogee among guests).
Catalina
Ponor was also the special guest star of the "Sportel
2004 Expo", the biggest sport TV show (where TV stations
and clients from around the world sell/buy the rights to broadcast
major competitions). At the International Gymnastics Federation's
stand Catalina
Ponor was helping FIG to promote gymnastics competitions
among TV stations. She also made some demonstrations at balance
beam hours ago. Catalina
Ponor arrived in Monaco's top luxury hotel Loews Grand
from Belgium, where she has performed in a gymnastics show
(for a 4000 Euro fee, like $5000) at Liege.

Ponor, in "Leon " magazine
 "Leon",
a German gymnastics magazine, have just released the issue
featuring Athens Olympics. Subscribers have started to receive
their copies at the end of last week.

Ponorarticle and photos, with some excerpts from articles,
too.
Unfortunately, it is printed in German
version only, but still interesting since this seems to be
the first gymnastics magazine coming out of press since Athens.

Olaru has changed her car... and delayed her US plans
Maria
Olaru have (finally) sold her old For Kia car and
bought a WW Golf 4 with help of a friend. After she has announced
back in August, that she want to leave for US, now she made
some changes in her plans. Or at least, there are some delays.
For the moment, she started her new job, teacher assistant
at Timisoara sport University and also preparing a Master
Degree in Sport Management. Maria also started to redecorate
her apartment, to increase the sale value, for the moment
she will sell it before leaving.

Romanian national television have aired an interview with
Belu, taken earlier today at a reception (see report coming
later) in Cluj. He answered to a question about Oana
Ban (which lives in Cluj but was not present at
Reception), saying that he asked her
to return at team.
"She have promised to me she will think about"-said

Reports from Romania says that minutes ago, Romanian state
television have announced that Belu have had today a long
discussion with Oana
Ban and tried to convince
her coming back to Deva. Our sources advised us earlier this
afternoon about some private talks between Belu, Mrs.Bitang
and Oana (they were both in Cluj, Oana
Ban's hometown) , but Oana have denied to romanian-gymnastics.com
any serious intention for a come back. Will check again with
our local contacts and hope to post a Report by 19,00 GMT.
