Silvia
Stroescu Stroescu voted in Bucharest
romanian-gymnastics.com: Silvia Stroescu, glad to hear
that you have voted, too!
Silvia
Stroescu: yes, it's our duty as responsible
citizens.
Q: What do you expect after these elections?
Silvia
Stroescu: I want to have a better situation
in Romania...( "sa fie mai bine"...)
Q: These are exactly same words as Oana's, few minutes
ago, nice to see that you are so informed about situation
in Romania...
[ when we have made the arrangements for photos, we didn't
tell to girls that we need some answers too, we wanted to
have back from them real, first hand answers and not "prepared"
ones]
Silvia
Stroescu: Oana voted already? I should went
earlier to vote, ha-ha!
Q: How you see the future of Romania, for the years
to come?
Silvia
Stroescu: I hope these elections will mark
a change in the country situation, to reduce the poverty level
("sa nu mai fie saracie")
Q:...Again, you have almost the same (very mature) thoughts
as Oana, it's a pleasure to see this from a young student.
Silvia
Stroescu:...and I hope that Romania will join
soon the European Union.
[Romania is supposed to join E.U. in 2007, the delay is mostly
due to communists which have ruled, directly or from background,
the country past 15 years]
Q: Silvia, what do you believe is the most important
thing regarding these elections?
Silvia
Stroescu: The most important thing is that
all people go to vote ("sa voteze toata lumea, sa nu
stea acasa"). We can make a change , an improvement,
with such a little effort.
Q: Your long term plans?
Silvia
Stroescu: I hope that , finally, Romania will
take the good course to a n economy market, to improve the
level of life for everybody. I want, as I told you before,
to make my life here, in Romania, and I hope I will be able
to contribute myself at the progress, after I finish my university
studies. I like to travel, just been in Japan recently, we
can learn from other countries experiences, but we, Romanians,
need first to take care about our own country, to do our best
for improve the situation at "home".
Q: Thank you.
[Nov 29, 13,30 GMT/ Voting Day]
Oana
Ban just voted in Cluj, one hour ago.

[updated 15,30 GMT]:
Q:Oana, thanks for the photos, you looks great!
Oana
Ban: No mention, thanks.
Q: How do you feel after your (first time) voting?
Oana
Ban: It was an interesting experience and I
hope it will helps.
Q:What do you expect from these elections?
Oana
Ban: I want to have a better situation in Romania,
the life of regular citizens to be improved. I want and hope
to see less poverty in the country, in the years to come. There
is so much poverty now around...
Q: You are a young student now, what your colleagues are saying
/ hope from these elections?
Oana
Ban: From what I've heard at my colleagues
from University, we need (badly) that the voice of the young
generation, the students desires and opinions, to be listened
and respected more in future, more that in past years. If we
want to improve the situation in the country, the young people
can do a lot.
Q: It seems that you have some very informed colleagues at
University, this is a good sign. Oana, we will not ask directly
what you have voted (or will not publish that part anyway,
before elections ending abroad), according to Romanian laws
[note:which the ruling party did not respected much, anyway,
past few years or last weeks], but tell me about what you
have heard, what opinions on these elections have the people
from your region [legendary Transylvania, center of Romania,
seen as a pro-West region] ?
Oana
Ban: from what I have seen and heard last weeks,
people around here voted for a change and want to have a new
type of leadership, a new type of Government and Parliament,
with more respect to people, to their needs.
Q: thanks. What about the ring on your finger, did you get
engaged (and didn't told us?...)
Oana
Ban(laughing): No, no, I bought it from "Cora"supermarket,
when I went with all the girls, after Athens, you can ask
them (still laughing).
Q: OK, I believe you, just wanted to check, we don't want
to miss this event...still single?...
Oana
Ban: yeeees. ("Daaa....")
Q: Thanks again, that's it for now, we have on the other line
with Romania the conference ready with Silvia Stroescu, too.
Bye for now and good luck to school!
Oana
Ban: Thank you.
